It’s been a non-stop few weeks with some pretty neat experiences to share.

The Playoffs at Constellation Stage & Screen

I had the chance to direct a play for Constellation’s “Playoffs,” which is this intense 24-hour challenge where we create a play from scratch from prompts and other required elements. Our playwright wrote it overnight, and on filming day, we rehearsed for a few hours and then filmed it in one go. And guess what? Our team, “The Astronomers,” won the World Series! (There’s clearly a baseball theme) Next year, I’m thinking of switching hats and acting because it looked like they were all having so much fun!

Art in the Gallery

In other news, my artwork is now on display at the Waldron Arts Center. There are 28 pieces on display, and some are brand new. I spent a couple of late nights finishing them up, and I’m really happy with how they turned out. It’s wonderful seeing people enjoy and charmed by my work – and I’ve received great feedback about the joy and happiness it brings. The exhibit is up until November 20th. In the same building are two other powerful exhibits: one that confronts the issue of deforestation and another featuring poignant art from individuals who have been incarcerated. Both are compelling and definitely worth your time.

Teaching Update

The semester is flying by at Indiana University. My students are preparing their scripted scenes, and it’s been a treat to watch them grow. It’s especially rewarding to see the quieter ones now stepping into the light and really getting into it — reminds me of myself. Next up, I’ll work on them with their monologues, which is always a great way to close out the semester!

Looking Forward

With the semester well underway and the art exhibit open, I’m finding some time for personal projects. Plus, I’m getting ready for a new show with Constellation Stage & Screen starting in February. I can’t share much about it yet, but I’m excited.

And, I’m really looking forward to the holiday season and some downtime with family.
